Teaching children to read is a controversial subject. In fact, often called the ‘reading wars’ because many different approaches exist and are often in conflict. With the help of my expert, Judith Rowlands B Ed, M Ed, we decided on a combined approach to learning to read. The combined approach includes learning letter sounds, reading aloud, 60 vocabulary words with matching flashcards and 10 step readers. The Ready To Print section encourages proper position of the writing instrument and fine motor skills. With the magic drawing board and letter & number transparencies, your preschooler can learn to print legibly. The variety of transparencies allow your preschooler to print 2 & 3 letter words as well as numbers to 100. By preschool age, your child is ready to learn numbers to 100. Teach My makes the learning process simple with a coordinated book of numbers from 1-100, 100 train flashcards, a matching poster and foam numbers. The Ready For Math Section aims to help your preschooler make sense of the value of numbers and encourage simple problem solving with addition and subtraction from 0-5. Using counters, a double sided poster, 2 flip books and foam numbers, your preschooler can master the concept of ‘how many’ and learn how to form simple mathematical equations. Teach My Preschooler makes it easy for you to spend time together engaging in focused, educational play. Keep the kit separate from other toys and get it out when you truly have time for one-on-one interaction. 20 minutes a day with Teach My Preschooler is ample time to give your preschooler the head start they need. Never force learning, simply encourage it by getting out the kit, doing one section at a time and making learning fun and creative.

Teach My Preschooler is the Dr. Toy award winning, all-in-one preschool toy! It is full of preschool activities that truly prepare your child for kindergarten and encourages early reading. The kit is divided into four sections; Ready To Read, Ready To Print, Ready For 1-100 and Ready For Math. Teach My Preschooler aims to teach 3 year olds to read, to teach 4 year olds to read, to print, count to 100 and get ready for math.

Each section contains coordinated learning activities. The innovative and creative teaching tools encourage preschool learning and school readiness. The consistent nature of the tools and supervised one-on-one time provides plenty of opportunity for repetition and focused learning.

With just 20 minutes a day and Teach My Preschooler, you will be opening the door to a world of early reading, early writing and early math.

According to the University of Michigan Health System, a child's reading skills are important to their success in school and work. In addition, reading can be a fun and imaginative activity for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them.  Reading and writing are important ways we use language to communicate.
